Access to career support matters more than ever as hiring practices shift toward AI-driven tools and digital platforms that many job seekers have never been taught to use. Without guidance, these systems can become barriers rather than pathways—especially for women navigating career transitions, re-entry, or economic instability.

On Wednesday, February 4, Dress for Success San Jose addressed this gap by hosting a LinkedIn Learning Career Training Paths Workshop at LinkedIn Mountain View. The program was designed to ensure women are not left behind as employers increasingly rely on AI to source, screen, and evaluate candidates.

During the interactive session, participants learned how to use LinkedIn’s AI-powered tools with intention—strengthening job search strategies, refining professional branding, and aligning platform features with individual career goals. The workshop created space for shared learning, questions, and connection with others facing similar transitions.

The impact extended beyond skills alone. Women traveled from Santa Cruz, Castro Valley, Daly City, and across the South Bay to participate, underscoring both the demand for this type of support and the lack of accessible opportunities in many communities. For many attendees, this was their first exposure to tools that can help clarify career direction and identify relevant opportunities more efficiently.

Notably, 20% of participants were new to Dress for Success, showing how programs like this help reach women who may not yet have access to career guidance or professional networks.

Throughout the workshop, participants received one-on-one coaching from Santa Clara University Delta Sigma Pi members, LinkedIn employees, and Dress for Success San Jose career coaches. These conversations helped women apply what they were learning in real time—whether updating profiles, mapping next steps, or reframing their job search approach.

Workshops like this translate donor support into access, confidence, and opportunity. By ensuring women can engage with the tools shaping today’s workforce, Dress for Success helps remove barriers to employment and supports long-term economic stability.
