Program Associate

Role Description

Dress for Success San Francisco & San Jose is seeking a Program Associate to support the delivery of client-facing programs across Santa Clara County. This role is highly interactive and community-based, requiring strong relationship-building skills and consistent in-person engagement.

Candidates should be based in Santa Clara County or the surrounding area, with strong connections to and familiarity with the local community.

This position leads the day-to-day delivery of programs, including career wardrobe, in-person career center services, donation drives, financial education, virtual job search programs, career coaching, client recruitment, data tracking, and in-person volunteer management. The Program Associate is also accountable for meeting program goals set by executive management. 

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with women navigating career transitions, supporting them with the tools, resources, and professional attire needed to move into employment and economic stability. It is well suited for someone who is motivated by community impact and enjoys building relationships in a client-facing environment.

This position is expected to treat all visitors—including donors, volunteers, clients, and partners—with professionalism and a welcoming attitude.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of three days per week on-site at Dress for Success San Jose and CalWORKs offices. Attendance at special events and team activities is required, including travel to San Francisco approximately 1–2 times per month.

Key Responsibilities include:

Career Wardrobe Program

  • Recruit new clients and support program implementation

  • Coordinate partner programs and self-referrals

  • Manage volunteer and client schedules

  • Provide direct client support and connect clients to additional services

  • Conduct pre- and post-appointment follow-up via email and text

  • Track appointments, follow-ups, and outcomes in Salesforce

  • Communicate inventory needs

CalWORKs Career Wardrobe Program

  • Schedule appointments and follow up with clients

  • Maintain communication with case managers

  • Prepare monthly client reports and timesheets

  • Support monthly reporting

  • Lead weekly on-site program execution (Wednesdays – 1879 Senter Rd.)

  • Enter client data into Salesforce

  • Communicate inventory needs

Referral Partners

  • Maintain and grow relationships with referral agencies

  • Recruit new partners

  • Host bi-monthly orientations and annual open houses

  • Represent Dress for Success at partner events

In-Person Career Center

  • Recruit clients and manage scheduling

  • Support drop-in services and volunteer coordination

  • Track participation and follow-ups in Salesforce

Boot Camps & Workshops

  • Recruit clients and support coordination

  • Track participation and follow-ups

Financial Literacy Program

  • Support coordination and on-site facilitation

  • Recruit participants

  • Manage surveys, attendance, and follow-ups

  • Collect client success stories

Virtual Job Search Program

  • Execute two cohorts annually

  • Facilitate Spanish-language summer cohort

  • Support translation (written and verbal)

  • Recruit participants and speakers

  • Track participation and manage communications

General Programming & Data Entry

  • Send reminders and follow-up communications

  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records and reporting

  • Supervise volunteers and interns

  • Support office operations, including moves and training

Donation Drives & Boutique Management

  • Lead donation drives and oversee inventory

  • Maintain boutique organization and presentation

  • Ensure quality and appropriateness of items

  • Coordinate with administrative staff on supplies and inventory

Volunteer Coordination

  • Recruit and schedule volunteers across programs

  • Support volunteer management systems and calendar

Additional Responsibilities

  • Represent Dress for Success positively in the community

  • Support program close-out tasks and events

  • Assist with special events and workshops

  • Lift and transport items (up to 15 pounds) as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work in-person regularly in Santa Clara County

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with client-facing services

  • Experience with Google Workspace and Salesforce

  • Based in Santa Clara County or surrounding area, with strong connections to the local community

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a salary range of $31- $35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
