Welcome to the team, Asha and Kira!

Meet our new Board Members!

Please join us in welcoming two new members to our Board of Directors! We are thrilled to have Asha Chandra and Kira Dales join our team.

Asha Chandra is a social impact professional with 25+ years of experience developing strategy, managing community engagement programs with small businesses and underserved and minority communities, and leading employee volunteer initiatives in both corporate and government roles. Asha had her introduction to Dress for Success in 2015 when her daughter, then in high school, began volunteering for the organization. In 2020, while at Meta, Asha led a virtual volunteering initiative for employees who provided mentorship to Dress for Success clients. As an active community member and now a member of our board, Asha is excited to serve on the board and make a positive impact on the lives of women in the Bay Area.

Kira Dales has nearly 30 years of experience at Silicon Valley tech companies, including executive roles at Adobe, Google, eBay, and PayPal. She has led strategic and annual planning, portfolio allocation, business and product operations, and program management. Kira has a passion for driving business transformations and scaling operations, and has rich experience in software platforms and services, SaaS & cloud, marketplaces, e-commerce, payments, and advertising businesses. Kira holds a B.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Cornell University, and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Stanford. She lives in Los Gatos and San Francisco with her husband and two Snowshoe Siamese rescue cats, and their two boys who are away at college. She enjoys mentoring, traveling, and is a foodie (both cooking and eating!).

Our Board of Directors is a group of professionals with backgrounds in marketing, accounting, tech, law, and more who help us fundraise, meet our goals, and serve more women. We would not be able to execute our mission without the support of this amazing team. We are thrilled to welcome these two new talented board members, and can’t wait to work with them!

Many of our board members started as volunteers. If you are interested in getting more involved in our organization as a volunteer, please register for an upcoming volunteer orientation to learn more! Opportunities to volunteer include personal shopping to outfit clients in our boutique, career mentoring, presenting at our job search or employment retention program, sorting inventory, or joining a committee. We hope you will join us.
